- You are the one bringing donuts to the team after they have done an all night upgrade
- You go to more meetings than there are hours in a working day
- Your team is looking at you and wondering why you are still standing around when they clearly have the situation under control
- You get it and leave and then smile because you know you work with great people and it is ok to go home!
For the first time in my career, I was not the part of the technical team doing the long weekend upgrade. I actually felt useless today after visiting my team who were completing an upgrade of our Oracle environment from 9i to 10g. In the end, I did smile and realized that I learned another lesson on the journey that I am on.
I am really looking forward to presenting via Skype to the CAUDIT EA Symposium 2007 tomorrow.
