Yes I completed the Advanced EA course and have my Certified Enterprise Architect designation from the Institute of Software Research International, Carnegie Mellon University. The course was very good and I really enjoyed Dr Scott Bernard’s work. Scott’s book is a valuable resource to an Enterprise Architect because it gives you the actual EA artifacts (models and samples) to build out your own EA repository. The online nature of the course was facilitated by regular conference calls, an online site with weekly questions and great interaction with fellow students. I am now considering a masters program with a focus on EA. Cheers! Leo

Michael, I am a manager in the IT Services department @ BCIT and my area of study is something called Enterprise Architecture. This is a step up from IT Architecture in that is is a holistic methodology for looking at organizations and how the are “architected” or “constructed”. By understanding how our organizations are put together, we can have a better understanding of how to change them. Sorry for preaching but when someone asks about the thing that jazzes me up, I can’t help myself. All the best to you over the holidays, Leo

Leo,

So, other than coaching soccer, what is it that you do? Are you involved in architecture, trained as an architect, etc.

There were several student events in design I wanted to organize when I was at the SA but didn’t get the support or buy-in to make them happen. It’s still not too late.
